Eleanor Rothman
I’m Eleanor Rothman, a certified postpartum doula and CPR instructor, and I’ve dedicated myself to creating a nurturing, inclusive space for families as they move through the transition from pregnancy to parenthood. My journey has taken me from supporting patients in hospitals to completing medical training in Argentina, and each experience has deepened my passion for blending evidence-based care with genuine compassion. I specialize in guiding families through the early postpartum period—whether that means overnight support, lactation guidance, newborn care education, or simply holding space for healing and adjustment. My vision is to ease the challenges of postpartum recovery while also preparing for my future path as a physician in emergency medicine and global health.
BIRTHWORK

I was drawn to this work by a deep respect for the strength it takes to bring new life into the world—both from the birthing parent and from their partner or support team. My training as a doula, along with hospital and international medical experience, has shaped the way I show up: calm, steady, and rooted in advocacy. I love being there for families not only through birth, but also in the raw, tender postpartum period—whether that means overnight support, lactation guidance, or simply holding space when everything feels overwhelming. My goal is always to meet families where they are, honor their choices, and offer care that is inclusive, practical, and compassionate—especially for those who are too often overlooked.

GLOBAL HEALTH FOCUS
My passion for medicine has taken me beyond the classroom. Through a medical program at Georgetown and clinical training in Argentina, I’ve seen firsthand how access to care—and the lack of it—shapes families’ lives around the world. These experiences deepened my commitment to global health and strengthened my belief that compassionate, evidence-based support should be available to everyone. They also fuel my long-term goal of becoming a physician in emergency medicine, where I can continue to advocate for patients in their most urgent moments.

At the heart of everything I do is the belief that every family deserves to feel seen, supported, and respected. Whether I’m offering hands-on care in the postpartum period, steady presence during birth, or learning through my medical journey, my goal is always the same: to make sure families know they are not alone. I bring compassion, advocacy, and a little bit of humor into my work, and I’m committed to serving every family—especially those who are too often left behind—with dignity and care.
